Hi, My name is Zeloszelos. Zelos for short (you know, like John/Jonathan). I also go by “Z.” I’m a Native and Black polymath dedicated to data science, tech literacy and storytelling through interactive media.
I’m currently based in Portland, Oregon U.S.A.
After graduating with an interdisciplinary degree in journalism and multi-media I became interested in the intersections of journalism, dynamic data, artificial intelligence and creative production. Early on, I worked for newspapers, broadcast, creative agencies and corporations eventually moving into the non-profit and government sectors. My unique skillset connected me with large-scale projects requiring my highly analytical ability to creatively problem solve while training, testing and utilizing new scalable methods.
UXUI Case Study
I frequently am consulted on how best to distill large amounts of information into a language that particular demographics of people will be able to understand, inform themselves and interact with. Because of my diverse experience and expertise that’s led me to both conventional and niche projects.
Research and Journalism
Information isn’t just about making intelligent decisions. It’s about cultural identity and the relationship we have with our selves and the society we’re apart of. Most of my research has focused on social interactions and issues. I’ve utilized this analytical skillset in gathering thorough reports, informing policy and in testing or user experience processes.
Production and Engineering
Some of my first love languages are research, cartography and design. I’ve directed production for broadcast, product design, film and worked backend engineering relationships in Saas, b2b and government.
Today, I spend much of my after hours time script writing, working behind the camera or teaching at open source pop ups through my non-profit.
